In 2013, NACADA presented Soldiers to Students: Academic Advising for Returning Veterans, in which our panelists began the discussion of issues that veterans may experience and shared strategies for assisting student veterans. Participants responded with appreciation for the information shared and requests to "dig deeper" regarding the needs of current military students, as well as student veterans.   In this 60-minute follow-up videocast presentation, sponsored by NACADA’s Advising Veterans, Military Students & Family Members Interest Group, Jill Geisler Wheeler (University of Arkansas-Fayetteville), a panelist from the original broadcast, returns to serve as moderator for a new team of panelists.  Rodney Mondor (University of Southern Maine), Robin Lawther and Amy Jefts (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), and Joshua Stone (Southern New Hampshire University) share information and practices gleaned from their experiences advising these students.  Topics include what it mean to be "military-friendly", navigating the complexities of military life, advising online, military benefit processes and procedures, collaborating with the VA, identifying struggling students, Green Zone training, and academic self-management for military students.
