Assessment is a tool used to demonstrate how academic advising impacts student success and is vital to moving advising programs forward on any higher education campus. In this NACADA Assessment of Advising Community-sponsored webinar, Assessment Institute Faculty members considered how to apply assessment tools to show the value of advisor contributions and academic advising practices to their administrators, funders, supporters, and students. The presenters defined assessment, explained its value, and described the Assessment Cycle, including what to do with the data once a cycle is complete. Focusing on the various steps of the Assessment Cycle, the presenters discussed how assessment works and introduced the NACADA Assessment Institute and Assessment Pocket Guides as additional tools to help develop and hone assessment skills.
